False Teachers

1.      Matthew 7:15-16 

“15Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. 16Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?”

False prophets – These deceive not by disguising themselves as sheep, but by impersonating true shepherds. They promote the wide gate and the wide way. Sheep’s clothing – May refer to the woollen attire that was the characteristic garb of a shepherd.

Know them by their fruits – See note 3:8. False doctrine cannot restrain the flesh, so false prophets manifest wicked-ness.
